Rave Green Run!💚⚽💙
If you couldn't tell from my from my #MLSisBack 2019 post, I am a big Seattle Sounders FC supporter. I also love running in 5k fun run races (examples: here and here) so when you put those two things together you get the Seattle Sounders FC Rave Green Run and I think it is a perfect way to spend a morning!
The 2019 Rave Green Run was the fifth year of this fun run and I have run it almost every year. This is a fun race because you are surrounded by Sounders fans decked out in all of their gear and there is usually the opportunity to meet a Sounders player after the race. This year former Sounders player Zach Scott participated in the run so you could actually try to outrun a former professional player! That was a fun new twist on this run. Anyways, if you're anything like me racing against Zach Scott isn't really at your pace so I just settled with getting a photo with him post-race and was more than happy about that.
The Rave Green Run supports the Rave Foundation which is the official charitable arm of the Seattle Sounders. The Rave Foundation's mission is "To build small fields for free play and invest in programs that use soccer as a vehicle to inspire youth and strengthen communities."
