Watching the Seattle Sounders vs. Cincinnati FC
One of my favorite things about Seattle are the Sounders! I love watching the Sounders both at home and at the stadium and this past weekend was the kick-off to the Seattle Sounders FC season! Home openers are always so fun but this one was more eventful than usual - and not just because of the 4-1 Seattle win :)This match was the kickoff to the start of the Sounder's 10th year in MLS! The whole 2009 team came out and was signing autographs and taking pictures with fans before the match. Some of the team members were even serving pints at some of the local bars the night before as another opportunity to hang out with some of Sounders supporters. The pre-match ceremony celebrated this team as well as the legacy of Sigi Schmid.In addition to this being the 10th year of the Sounders, this match was super exciting because it was the first match for the expansion club Cincinnati FC and it was the first time Seattle Sounder Jordan Morris had played in a match in over a year due to injury. Morris came back strong - scoring his first goal back in the 33rd minute and then scoring again in the 43rd minute!

If you have the opportunity to go to a Sounders match, be sure to check out all of the pre-match festivities, including making a stop by the Ninety. The Ninety is a really cool space that is part pre-match hang out spot and part Seattle Sounders history museum. At the Ninety, you can check out the artwork for the "Posters by the People", a board featuring all of the games the Sounders have played and the corresponding results to each match, check out the history of the club's uniforms, see all of the club's trophies, and you can even grab a beer here before you make your way over to the stadium.

I can't wait to see what the rest of the season has in store for the Sounders (hopefully it includes a lot more of what happened this past weekend)!
