Beer + Science = Math that adds up for a good night
The Pacific Science Center on its own is a cool place to check out any day of the week, but when they host special events like Brewology it is the perfect way to spend the evening with some of your beer-loving friends!
What is Brewology?
Brewology is the perfect event if you love science, trying lots of different craft beer, and exploring a the Pacific Science Center after-hours! You get to do all of those things over the course of the evening and can create your own adventure throughout the museum while trying beers (as well as a couple of ciders) from over 20 different local breweries. Along with all of the beer and normal exhibits to check out, there was variety of lectures and demonstrations to learn more about the science behind some of the beer you're sipping on, so there's no shortage of things to do or beers to try.
If you find yourself at the next Brewology event, here are a few recommendations of some things to make sure to check out:
- Planetarium Open House - it's a fun opportunity to ask all of the questions you have about the stars, galaxies, and planets!
- Butterfly House - make sure you finished off your latest taster before heading over here since you can't bring in any food or drink, but this is one of my personal favorite parts of this museum. There's so many different butterflies to spot in here including some that are extremely camouflaged so keep your eyes peeled!
- All of the interactive activities by the entrance - it's easy to breeze past these on your way in (I mean, understandably because you're focused on getting to all of the beer) but be sure to make your way back here. The activities down here are all super interactive and fun and worth your time to check out (and not just a quick pass thru as you're headed out the door at the end of the evening).
Also if beer isn't your thing, the Pacific Science Center also does a wine version of this event called "Stem" as well as other after-hours events for adults 21+. To learn more about events like these coming up, visit here.
