Tastes of T-Mobile Park - Craft Beer

Beer and baseball are the perfect pair.

🍺 + ⚾ = ♥

Add in the fact that Seattle loves its craft brews and that leads you to expect that even at the ballpark Seattlites and visitors alike can grab some great beers at a ballgame. There is quite a bit of variety of options at T-Mobile Park, especially compared to some of the other parks across the league, but I have to say there are less options for craft brews in the 2019 season than the last.

It is not that you cannot find craft brews at the ballpark this year, it just takes more time to seek them out than you used to. Last season it seemed that every Rolling Roof concessions at least had a craft brew along with a couple of offerings from the macro companies but this year it is almost all macro on tap (and even in cans) unless you know where to look. To help you out in finding some of those craft gems in the ballpark, here's my insight in where you can find some of the better beer in the ballpark:
On Draft:Like I said earlier, craft draft beer appears to be harder to find this season. Here are a few of the hidden spots that I have gone to get some classic and more interesting craft brews:
  • The Coors Light Rail Bar down the 'Pen surprisingly has Mac & Jack's and Manny's always on tap. This is my go-to spot during happy hour before a game begins if I make it to the ballpark in time for happy hour.
  • The Way Back Crab Shack also usually has Mac & Jack's and Manny's on and depending on what time of the game you stop by there usually isn't too much of a line to wait through to get one of these classic Seattle craft options.
  • Down at Ballard Pizza Company in the 'Pen, you can get Lagunitas on tap which isn't something you will be able to find many other places.
  • On the main concourse by Section 184 there is a beer station that has quite a few tap handles that include samplings from Ruben's, Black Raven, and more.
  • Over around sections 138-140 there are a couple of carts that offer two or so taps each of different craft brews. One of these stands has a couple of beers from Diamond Knot Brewing, including the Diamond Knot IPA. Another one features brews from Black Raven Brewing.
  • If you are up on the upper concourse, your best bet would be to go to the Lookout Landing. There isn't much of a selection for beer way up this is where I would go to look if you're in search for something a little different than a macro on tap.

Canned Beer:Craft Beer - 21st Amendment
  • Around Section 117 there is a stand that sells a pretty good variety of beer. There are some macros (of course) but they have some craftier things such as 21st Amendment's Blood Orange IPA and options from 10 Barrell and Ruben's in 12oz cans.
  • Around Section 142 there is another stand that is similar to that of the one around section 117, but throughout the season they have had more local IPAs and pale ales rotate through their fridge of offerings, including the Pacific Crest Pale by Dru Bru.
  • Hidden back behind On Deck Donuts (section 136) and Din Tai Fung (133) and where there is also the Baseball Museum of the Pacific Northwest/Mariners Hall of Fame located in hiding, there is a stand that has a couple of beers on tap (generally macro now) but a large fridge of craft/unique offerings. Here is where I would go if you are in search to drink a Sierra Nevada (they always seem to have them here).

I know this isn't craft, but it's still good for a ball game category:I know, I know. This post is supposed to be all about craft beer but there are times when something lighter, something more generic sounds good to have at a ballgame. If you're looking for something that's not craft I would recommend a can of the PNW classic Rainier (#goldtops). Alternatively I found that Holy Smoke BBQ has PBR on tap and I haven't been able to find it anywhere else in the ballpark so I think of it as an exclusive here that is not much of anything special anywhere else in the city that you would find to have it on tap.And then, there are also times that you may want wine at a ballgame. The best selection of wine on the main concourse is at First on Vine, located near section 125. Additionally, here and a few other places in the ballpark you can get a carafe of wine that ends up being about the same or maybe even a little less in price compared to the individual glasses of wine.
Hope this helps in your search for beverages throughout the ballpark! Enjoy your own #tastesoftmobilepark!
